Responsibilities:

As Assistant Vice President for Student Services and Educational Outreach, Ms. Dumesnil is responsible for the development and execution of a coordinated series of programs and initiatives that support and enhance CNSE's K-12 educational outreach. This includes on-site programs for students and teachers, monthly events featuring presentations and site tours, science and technology fairs, and programs targeting educational leadership to convey the mission, vision, impact and importance of CNSE and nanotechnology.

Ms. Dumesnil also will focus on the development of opportunities for community stakeholders, including government and municipal leaders, business groups, trade associations, community-based organizations and others designed to convey CNSE mission, vision, impact and importance.

Major Achievements:

• Featured Panelist: "Preparing a World-Class Workforce for Tech Valley" including United States Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
• Featured Panelist: "Educational Impacts of Globalization" Greater Capital Region Teacher Center.
• Featured Panelist: HOBY Youth Summit, New York State Capitol.
• Responsible for launch and growth of Chamber's four key regional initiatives, with primary focus on innovative K-12 education programs.
• Launched inaugural "Tech Valley Kids Summit, Innovation Celebration!" with 55 regional school districts and featured innovative, project-based programs and a presentation by Bill Nye The Science Guy.
• Launched "Love SAM" (Science and Math) pilot program in collaboration with GE and The City School District of Albany, bringing hands-on learning into two first grade classrooms.
• Launched Tech Valley Teacher Externship Program, connecting math, science and technology teachers with externship opportunities at regional technology businesses and secured financial support which doubled the amount of placement opportunities offered in 2006.
• Coordinated Tech Valley Education Committee (TVEC), comprised of volunteers in K-12 education, higher education and area technology businesses and effectively increased membership by 50%.
• Coordinated Tech Valley Educator Awareness Conferences for more than 500 teachers, administrators, counselors and school board members from throughout the region.
• Generated significant local, regional and national media attention including Education Weekly.
